Hello and welcome!
FLoP is finally here, how exciting! Whether it’s your first FLoP, or you’re coming back again, we’d like to go over all the information you may need to have an excellent experience! We encourage you to send this message to everyone in your group so they all can be aware of our policies and amenities for you. The event is taking place at the Retreat on Charleston Peak and runs from Friday February 6th to Sunday February 8th. The drive from a central point in Las Vegas to the hotel is about 45 minutes. Road conditions are very clear this year, and you shouldn't need any special equipment to get to the mountain.
This year, the restaurant food credit system is a little different. If you booked a room with included food credit, you will be able to access your funds by billing your meal to the room. Simply provide your server with your room number and ID that matches the name on the room. You can add your roommates to the reservation at the front desk if you would like them to use the food credits as well. Food credits are valid at the hotel restaurant, the hotel bar, or for food at the hotel gift shop, and yes, you can leave a tip to your server with the credits. If at anytime you want to verify your food credit balance, just ask the front desk team. If you are owed food credits, and did not recieve them with your room booking (i.e. Dealers, DJs, artists), you will be issued a paper food credit voucher. When you give these vouchers to the server, they will bill our master account for the credit you were given.
Age Restrictions
Another opening point I’d like to touch on; FLoP Vegas on Mount Charleston does not explicitly have an age limit. Note that the whole event is at minimum PG-13 rated, and select areas, such as the hotel room corridor, are restricted completely to adults. If you plan to attend with furries who are under 18 years old, the best time to do so is on Saturday afternoon while our dealer's den is open. This will be the best time to show off your fursuit, get some pictures on the mountain and see what our artists have available. The big fursuit Photo is scheduled at 6:30 Saturday evening, open to all age groups and we'd love to see you there.
On top of the hotel room corridor being restricted to attendees over the age of 18, we have two other very important age restrictions to remind everyone of. To check in to a hotel room you must be at least 21 years old. And of course, for those who may have forgotten, alcohol consumption in the state of Nevada is restricted to adults over the age of 21. If you are hosting a room party you are responsible for ensuring you do not serve alcohol to anyone under the age of 21. The best way to verify if someone is over the age of 21 is by asking them for their government issued photo identification!
Hotel & Events
Hotel check in on Friday officially begins at 4 PM, although if the hotel has already cleaned your room, you may be able to check in earlier. You’ll need to bring your photo ID and a credit card for the hotel to collect incidentals with. There will be no additional charges. If for some reason your reservation isn't showing, there may be an error on our end. Last time we accidentally put down someone's furry name as their legal name, whoops! Reach out to us on telegram @JohnFLoP and we can fix it. Hotel check out on Sunday is at 11 am, however we are currently in negotiations with the hotel to apply a late check out on certain hotel rooms depending on their arrivals the next day and the flexibility of their housekeeping team. Priority of late checkout will be allocated to sponsors and super sponsors of FLoP. It’s not too late to jump on the list, we’d definitely appreciate your support.
We have a couple of events happening this weekend. Performances begin in the ballroom Friday at 7 PM and will run into the night. Saturday will feature more activities including our dealers den from noon until 5 PM. Our big Fursuit Photo happens Saturday evening at 6:30! And then at 8 PM our special guest this year, NONSTOPPUP and the THRIVE OR DIE crew will join our stage to perform all night long. And of course all the other legends of paradise will be hosting their own activities in the hotel room corridor!
Info Desk
FLoP Info Desk in the lobby will be open for sponsor merch pickup from from Noon to 5 PM on Saturday during the dealers den hours. After hour support can be obtained by messaging @JohnFLoP on Telegram, or by visiting hotel room 104. Depending on resources available at the event, we will also be providing FLoP cosmetic badge printing and previous years merchandise available for sale. At 6:30 PM on Friday in the ballroom we'll have the opening where I’ll give a quick presentation and basically read over this information, but there'll also be a Q and A afterwards. If you have friends that refuse to read for some reason, I recommend bringing them to this presentation!
